Second Life

Hello there! Let's talk about Second Life.

Second Life is an online virtual reality tool in which you can create your own avatar, roam freely and chat with the others. But how can we use it in education? We can create environments for students so that they can improve their reading and writing skills. Also they can talk or chat with others thus they can enhance their listening and speaking skills. While one can use it to teach directions, other can use it to teach vocabulary like names of animals. Surely, Second Life improves students' motivation and self-confidence which is quite important for the language learners.

Here is a memory from my Second Life experience.

Nearpod

Hi mate! What do you know about Nearpod? Nearpod allows us to create interactive lessons. You can easily import existing lessons and adding interactive features such as VR Trips, 3D Objects, quizzes, polls, open ended questions.  It is really easy to use! Teachers share a live session, students enter a code, and the lesson is synced to all devices.  Nearpod creates an inclusive and immersive learning experience by allowing students to actively participate in every lesson. You can also view your students' answers individually or as a class and generate post-session class. It allows students to take ownership of their learning by increasing students' access to information, ideas and interactions and supporting their sense-making. HP Reveal (Aurasma)

Hey, are you ready to meet with HP Reveal which helps us to use virtual reality in education? HP Reveal is a VR application. It is easy to use, accessible to everyone and also free in charge. It helps us to create energetic, motivated and engaged lessons. Thanks for the HP Reveal, teachers now have the chance to create authentic content instead of using old-fashioned, boring course books. On the other hand, there are some negative sides. For example, library of the application doesn't have enough content. Another problem is two animation can not be played at the same time. Despite its negative sides, it is still amusing and worth to use in class. Here is my video;
